Adolescents and Teenagers
Many teenagers struggle with the idea of accepting help. It makes sense given that the world around them is encouraging them to increase their responsibilities and have autonomy over their own decision making. Adolescents are beginning to solidify their core values and belief systems or are challenging previously accepted viewpoints. The desire to be successful in this step in creating one's identity and autonomy is why so many adolescents, teenagers, and young adults do not seek help.
